Accessory producers had so many new iPhone 5 battery cases released at CES 2013 that months later we’re still not done with their reviews. For the next few reviews we’ll be looking at the MyCharge Freedom Series for iPhone 5 as well as some of the best external charges for iPhone 5 MyCharge has produced, both with in-built Apple Lightning connector and USB ports.
MyCharge Freedom Series are designed to double your iPhone 5’s battery life, although the price – power ratio might feel a bit too much. One battery case is 1500 mAh and sells for $79.99, whereas the other one is 2000 mAh and will set you back $99.99. There’s also a third battery case but it is designed particularly for Samsung Galaxy S III and packs a 2500 mAh battery which sells for $99.99.
The 2000 Freedom Series battery case for iPhone 5 will add up to 9 hours of talk time and since it has a built-in Apple Lightning connector you can rest assured you won’t have to bother yourself with additional cables. But the iPhone 5 MyCharge Freedom Series is well worth the price if design and increased protection are what you’re interested in. There’s a bunch of decorative cases that catch the eye and although the only available color theme for now is jet black, the producer has quite the variety planned for release.
The Freedom Series cases for iPhone 5 are robust, made of twice-injected rubber and are durable enough to keep your iPhone 5 protected even when dropped from 4 to 5 feet. The Freedom 2000 iPhone 5 case is the only one available in the series, selling for $99.99. There are two colors available, silver and black, but the silver one is definitely our favorite one.
