The iPhone 5 battery life is without a doubt worse than the iPhone 4’s.
Something is definitely draining the battery faster than ever before and
whether it’s the network connectivity, the apps or even iOS6, one thing
is for sure: you need an iPhone 5 Battery case more than ever before.
To
begin with, the iPhone 5 Battery case you’re most likely going to buy,
should be compatible with the new Lightning connector on your device.
But it should also be light and small enough to fit in your shirt’s
pockets without ripping the stitching, otherwise you’re going to find
yourself holding a several hundred dollars smartphone that looks like
one of the bricks that we used to drag around 20 years ago. The iPhone 5
Battery case you’re planning to buy should also feature extensive
battery life and give your smartphone some protection from scratches and
scrapes.
You are probably trying to figure out which iPhone 5
battery case you should buy. Well, preorder, since most iPhone 5 battery
cases won’t start selling before December 24th. By the way, the reason
why it takes so long for iPhone 5 battery case producers to release
these accessories is because of a chip shortage at Apple’s Foxconn.
Lenmar
and Shenzhen Esorun Technology Limited Company have each produced an
iPhone 5 Battery case. Both priced under $100, these iPhone 5 battery
cases are available in preorder, because of Apple’s chip shortage. Each
producer promises their battery case will not only protect the back
panel of your iPhone 5 from scratches and scrapes but will also double
and even triple the battery life on a single charge.
Lenmar’s
iPhone 5 Battery case sells for $99.99 on Amazon (in preorder) and
according to its tech specs it should double the battery life of your
smartphone. The black rubberized case packs a 2200mAh Li-polymer battery
that seems to gives access to all your ports and buttons while
protecting the aluminum back panel of your iPhone 5. The producer
promises the 2200 mAh battery will “double your talk, text and surf
time”.
There are three colors to choose from Rubberized Black,
Metallic Red, Glossy White. To be fair, from the looks of it, the Glossy
White battery case looks most in line with iPhone 5’s design. It also
features a LED power indicator for batter power level, as well as an
on-off option.
If you’re preordering the Lenmar Meridian iPhone 5
Rechargeable Extended Battery Case take into account there’s nothing in
the product description about an Apple MFI certificate. Shenzhen Esorun
however is officially certificated by Apple to sell the iPhone 5
battery case accessory.
So as annoying as it is, preordering
your iPhone 5 Battery case isn’t as hassle-free as it should be, because
there aren’t that many actual reviews and comparisons available apart
from the information producers have released. But you’re most likely
going to take the risk and order a new iPhone 5 battery case even if
there aren’t comprehensive reviews (bug reports, actual handling etc) to
help make up your mind, so at least be certain what you’re buying is
the best available.
